| Research
and reconnaissance
entails reviewing available land corner
recordation certificates (LCRC), carrying out field research to
verify the location of existing Kent County monuments, and recording
witness for each corner. After field reconnaissance is complete,
all information is submitted to the peer group for review and
approval.
Monumentation
involves locating monuments and, if necessary,
repairing or replacing monuments, then preparing and recording
new LCRCs for each corner. Additionally, all previously unmonumented
center sections are established. Once reviewed and approved,
a new monument is set and a new LCRC prepared and recorded.
State plane coordinates are also established on each section
corner using differential GPS.
