A geographic information dystem (GIS) brings data processing and mapping together to produce powerful and flexible decision-making tools. Williams & Works offers clients highly-skilled staff adept in understanding how current computer software and equipment meets our clients’ explicit needs. Our diverse experience and pragmatic solutions provide clients with successful data development, conversion, and mapping.

Data. Because our GIS staff works closely with many municipalities, we have an in-depth understanding of the challenges facing local government. GIS professionals provide both municipalities and private clients easy access to data formerly stored on hard-copy drawings, in spreadsheets, or as CAD files. This data can be flexibly integrated into paper maps that are custom designed to illustrate specific conditions or issues. Or, it may be used as a geographical database, which can be queried and adjusted to meet individual needs.

Software. Using software such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, MapInfo, and Microsoft Access, Williams & Works helps clients working with large amounts of spatial and numerical data by providing analysis of the information. We work hard to keep the scope of a project in check by staying true to specifications and expectations.
